UFC 300 Preview (Main Event)

UFC 300 is the biggest combat sport event in history. We have already gone through and made our picks for the prelims, it is now time to see who will win in these Main Card match ups!

Bo Nickal vs Cody Brundage

Starting the main card is Bo Nickal vs Cody Brundage. Nickal is one of the hottest prospects the sport has ever seen, and his track record indicates that he will have a phenomenal future. Most fans are entirely overlooking Brundage, and though he deserves his flowers, this should be another dominant performance from Nickal. With his wrestling pedigree and hunger, there aren’t many people who pose legitimate threats to Nickal. That being said, Brundage has a legit wrestling pedigree, something none of Nickals previous opponents have had. It should make this more interesting, but, regardless, I have Nickal by whatever he wants.

My Pick: Bo Nickal – RD 1 TKO

Charles Oliveira vs Arman Tsarukyan

Next on the UFC 300 main card is many fans' most anticipated fight. The superstar that is Charles DoBronx vs the young killer in Arman Tsarukyan. Both men have complete skill sets in terms of having sound offense and defense in both the stand-up and the ground game. This fight could be the hardest to predict, in my opinion, as both men have valid arguments. In a three round fight, both fighters could be willing to extinguish their stamina earlier than usual which should give us fireworks. Tsarukyan is great at initiating a takedown with the purpose of stopping opposing take downs, and it works brilliantly. If the fight stays standing I see Arman setting up some big kicks in the later rounds.

Arman Tsarukyan – Decision

Justin Gaethje vs Max Holloway

Another highly anticipated matchup is the BMF title fight between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway. This should simply be a barn burner. Two men who are notorious for putting on shows during their fights. I think this will be pretty simple in terms of what each of their game plans will be. Holloway is going to continue to show why he is one of the best boxers to grace a UFC octagon, and Gaethje is going to throw debilitating leg kicks and hooks, maybe a rolling thunder if we are lucky. What makes that so fun is that both fighters are extremely durable. Probably the betting favorite for fight of the night, and I do not believe this fight will disappoint. I believe this will be the fight that Holloway’s legendary chin cracks.

Justin Gaethje – KO Rd 3

Zhang Weili vs Yan Xiaonan (Womens Strawweight Title)

The first real* title fight of the night is next, and it is between Zhang Weili and Yan Xiaonan. The general media has been focused on the other title fight and how potentially one-sided it will be, but this is the real one-sided title fight of the card. Xiaonan is a tremendous athlete and fighter, Weili is simply another level. Look no further than her last title defense against Amanda Lemos; it was a bell-to-bell beating that arguably should have been stopped multiple times. I will say, Weili has been caught before and of course anything can happen in a fight, but Weili is the champion for a reason.

Zhang Weili – Anyway she wants

Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill (Light Heavyweight Title)

And now, the Main Event: Alex Pereira defending his Light Heavyweight Title and Jamahal Hill attempting to reclaim the title he never lost. As mentioned before, the general media seem to be writing Jamahal Hill off, and I'll be honest: I think Alex will win, but the way Hill is being overlooked is criminal. Alex is a legit legendary striker, with the touch of death in his left hand. With that being said, it seems people forget that Hill was on a three KO streak before capturing the LHW title against Glover Teixeira in a great performance. The later this fight goes, the more Hill should scare fans of Alex.

Alex Periera – KO Rd 2
